A central vacuum system is the most powerful, most hygienic, and most convenient way to clean your home. Unlike portable vacuums that recirculate dust and exhaust air back into the room, a central vacuum system exhausts everything — dirt, dust, allergens, and fine particles — completely outside your living space through a dedicated pipe network. The result is air that stays cleaner while you vacuum, not worse.
Swiss Boy Vacuum has been Utah's central vacuum specialist since 1963. We have designed, installed, and serviced central vacuum systems in thousands of homes across the Wasatch Front — from new construction in Bountiful and Salt Lake to retrofits in older homes throughout Davis and Weber Counties. We carry complete systems from Vacuflo and Intervac, retractable hose systems from Hide-A-Hose and Chameleon, and a full range of hoses, power nozzles, inlet valves, installation materials, and replacement parts.
What's in a Central Vacuum System
Every central vacuum system has the same core components — a power unit, a pipe network, inlet valves, and a hose with cleaning tools. How those components are specified and installed determines how well the system performs and how easy it is to use for the life of your home.
Power Unit — the motor and filtration canister mounted in the garage, utility room, or basement. Sized by your home's square footage and the filtration style that fits your household.
Inlet Valves — the wall-mounted ports your hose plugs into. Low-voltage inlets start the system automatically when you plug in. Dual-voltage inlets also power electric cleaning heads.
Hose & Power Nozzle — the hose connects to the inlet and carries suction to your cleaning head. Electric power nozzles add a motorized brushroll for deep carpet agitation. Retractable hose systems store the hose inside the wall and retract automatically when you're done.
Pipe & Fittings — the 2" PVC network running through your walls that connects every inlet valve back to the power unit.
New System or Existing Home?
If you're building new, contact us during the framing stage — rough-in is straightforward and inexpensive when walls are open. If you're in an existing home, we retrofit central vacuum systems regularly and can route pipe through attics and crawl spaces with minimal disruption.
Call us at 801-298-3656 or stop by our Bountiful showroom. We'll assess your home, recommend the right system, and give you an installation quote — or walk you through a DIY rough-in if you prefer to do it yourself.
