Retractable Central Vacuum Hose Systems

A retractable central vacuum hose system takes everything that makes central vacuum convenient and removes the one remaining hassle — carrying, storing, and coiling a 30-foot hose. With a retractable system, the hose lives inside the wall. You open the inlet valve, pull out exactly as much hose as you need, clean, and release — the hose retracts automatically and disappears back into the wall. No coiling, no storage, no hose to trip over.

Introducing The Ultimate in Convenience

"Hide-a-Hose's retractable Central Vacuum System has been a massive hit among our community and customers, The Convenience and savings in cost is unmatched in the industry."

Swiss Boy Vacuum is Utah's authorized dealer for Hide-A-Hose and Chameleon retractable systems, and we carry the Vroom retractable assembly from H-P Products. We install these systems in new construction and retrofit them into existing homes throughout Davis, Weber, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties.

Hide-A-Hose vs. Chameleon vs. Vroom

These three systems work on the same core principle but differ in how the hose retracts and how the valve is designed.

Hide-A-Hose uses a true self-retracting hose that stores in a dedicated wall cavity. Available in SmartSoc and RapidFlex variants in 30', 40', 50', and 60' lengths. The gold standard for retractable systems and the one we install most frequently.

Chameleon uses a flexible retractable hose with a unique inlet valve design that allows the hose to flex and turn corners inside the wall — making it particularly well-suited for retrofit installations where a straight wall run isn't possible.

Vroom is H-P Products' retractable assembly, designed to work specifically with Vacuflo central vacuum systems. A simpler, lower-profile option for smaller spaces like bathrooms and utility closets.

New Construction vs. Retrofit

Retractable systems are easiest to install during construction when walls are open, but we retrofit them regularly into finished homes. The key is having a straight or gently curved wall run from the inlet location to the pipe network — typically a 4–6 foot wall cavity.
