Professional central vacuum installation for new construction and existing homes throughout the Wasatch Front. Free bids. Authorized dealer for BEAM, Vacuflo, Intervac, Chameleon, and Hide-A-Hose.
Swiss Boy Vacuum has been installing central vacuum systems in Utah homes since 1963. With over 10,000 systems installed across the Wasatch Front, our technicians have the experience to handle any home layout — from straightforward new construction rough-ins to challenging retrofits in existing homes.
We carry and install the top brands on the market — BEAM, Vacuflo, Intervac, Chameleon, and Hide-A-Hose — and we stock the parts to back up every system we install for decades of service. Our owner Rico Dubach still goes on installations personally, because we believe a central vacuum system is a long-term investment that deserves the right attention from the start.
Call us for a free installation bid. We'll assess your home's layout, recommend the right system for your square footage, and give you a straightforward quote with no pressure.
Whether you're building a new home or upgrading an existing one, Swiss Boy Vacuum handles the entire installation from pipe layout through final testing.
The ideal time to install a central vacuum is during construction before the walls are closed. We work directly with builders and homeowners to design the pipe layout for complete whole-home coverage. Because the walls are open, we can run pipe cleanly and position inlet valves exactly where they'll be most useful.
Central vacuum systems can be installed in most existing Utah homes with minimal wall disruption. Our technicians route pipe through attics, crawl spaces, and interior wall cavities — keeping drywall cuts to a minimum and patching as they go. We assess each home individually and give you an honest picture of what's involved before any work begins.
We install the brands we sell and service — which means we know every system inside out and stock genuine parts to support your installation for decades.
The world's most recognized central vacuum brand. Quiet Pak™ sound insulation, self-cleaning GORE-TEX filter, HEPA options. Swiss Boy is Utah's authorized BEAM dealer and has installed more BEAM systems across the Wasatch Front than any other local dealer.
True cyclonic filtration — no bags, no suction loss as the canister fills. DB series covers homes from small condos through large residences. Made in Canada. An excellent choice for allergy sufferers and pet owners.
The CondoVac 660 for condos and apartments where traditional rough-in isn't possible. Plug-in installation with no low-voltage wiring required — a central vacuum solution for homes that previously had none.
Chameleon and Hide-A-Hose retractable hose systems store the hose inside your walls — pull it out when needed, retract when done. We install more retractable hose systems in Utah than any other dealer. Available for new construction and retrofit.
A complete installation is more than just dropping in a power unit. Here's what we handle from start to finish.
We calculate the right power unit for your home's square footage and design an inlet valve layout that gives you full coverage with the hose length you choose.
We run 2" schedule 40 PVC from the power unit to each inlet location, routing through attic, crawl space, or wall cavities as appropriate for your home.
Inlet valves are mounted in the wall, connected to the pipe run, and wired with low-voltage cable back to the power unit. Cover plates installed and patched flush.
The power unit is wall-mounted in your garage, basement, or utility room. Exhaust is routed to an exterior wall and the low-voltage wiring is connected to the terminal block.
We test suction at every inlet valve, check for air leaks, and verify the system activates correctly at each location before we consider the job done.
We walk you through how to use the system, explain filter and bag maintenance, and answer any questions before we leave.
A complete installed central vacuum system in Utah typically runs $1,500–$3,000 depending on the power unit, number of inlet valves, and home layout. New construction installs cost less than retrofits because walls are open and pipe routing is straightforward. Retractable hose systems (Chameleon or Hide-A-Hose) add to the cost but eliminate the external hose entirely. Call us for a free bid specific to your home — there's no obligation and we'll give you a straight number.
A standard new construction rough-in typically takes half a day. A retrofit installation in an existing home usually takes one full day for a typical two-story home with 3–4 inlets, depending on wall access. Retractable hose systems take slightly longer due to the additional valve and hose components. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we assess your home.
Most Utah homes are good candidates — especially two-story homes, homes with accessible attics or crawl spaces, and any home currently under construction. Slab-on-grade single-story homes with no attic access can be more challenging but are often still workable depending on the floor plan. Call us and describe your home — we'll give you an honest assessment before you commit to anything.
For most Utah homes we recommend BEAM or Vacuflo as the power unit. BEAM is the most widely installed brand in the country, is extremely quiet, and has excellent parts availability for long-term service. Vacuflo's cyclonic filtration is a great choice if you have allergies or pets since it maintains full suction regardless of canister fill level. For condos or apartments where a traditional rough-in isn't possible, the Intervac CondoVac 660 is the right solution. We'll help you pick the right system for your specific situation.
Yes — we install more Chameleon and Hide-A-Hose retractable hose systems in Utah than any other dealer. Retractable systems store the hose inside the wall at each inlet valve. You pull the hose out when you need it and it retracts automatically when you're done — no external hose to store, no dragging it from room to room. Both Chameleon and Hide-A-Hose can be installed in new construction or retrofitted into existing homes.
